Known best for their iconic “Hand Painted Kitchen”, introduced in the 1970s and still regularly commissioned, Smallbone of Devizes offers several bespoke kitchen designs. Shown here is the Macassar, in which hand-painted pale blue panels are set off by mirror slips that reflect the room interior and accentuate the feeling of light and space.

An innovative designer with more than 30 years
of experience behind him, Mark Wilkinson’s work ranges from the classic to the exotic. This Shan Gara wooden kitchen features sliding panelled doors and cherry-stained salmon leather detailing for a stylish Far East look.

From classic to contemporary styles, Tom Howley designs and manufactures handcrafted kitchens in oak, maple, walnut and hand painted finishes that are tailored to suit individual needs. This kitchen combines contemporary colours and finishes with classic timbers and stone to create an enduring look.

Poggenpohl
Founded more than 110 years ago as the first German kitchen brand, Poggenpohl is well known for its kitchens that employ a variety of unique materials, colours, forms and functions. Here, a dash of colour and a wooden floor add warmth to clean white cabinetry, while the horizontal lines of the +Artesio design emphasise the width of the room.

Edwin Loxley
Nottingham-based Edwin Loxley designs stunning bespoke kitchens, frequently using beautiful timbers with traditional craftsmanship. Its more modern offering is the Cavani range, which features bespoke cabinet sizes and shapes, dovetailed solid timber drawers and any finish desired. Here, handleless olive ash veneer with a continuous grain combines with a painted olive finish and sleek Costa Smerelda granite worktops.

Underwood
Underwood Furniture design and craft bespoke kitchens in its workshops in Grendon Underwood, where you can even visit to see your furniture being made. Several ranges are on offer but its latest, the classic Vermont collection is one of our favourites, with its simple and refined style with minimal detailing and elegant lines. Crafted from hand-painted wood and solid walnut, it also boasts leather-lined interiors and nickel handles.

Chalon
Chalon began making furniture in 1981 designed to emulate the classic elegance of 18th and 19th-century English pieces. Today, its distressed paint effects and bold colours are instantly recognisable and nowhere more so than in its Original freestanding kitchen. This kitchen is handcrafted from Quebec Yellow Pine and available hand-painted in a selection of more than 70 finishes.

Contemporary Austrian brand Intuo creates stylish kitchens that combine functionality with thoughtful design. Johnny Grey Studios
Unlike most kitchen companies, Johnny Grey Studios does not have a pre-designed line of furniture. Instead, all kitchens are custom made, one-off designs that are created to suit your unique space and requirements. Here, the arced design makes the most of limited space, while a colourful lacquered cabinet adds to the playful nature of the overall scheme.
